TIP 242: Places to advertise your FREE book, or your book for free
One thing authors are always on the lookout for are FREE places in which to advertise their books online, or places to advertise their free books. I’ve stumbled across a few, and I’m sharing them here.
You can find this tip, and many more on marketing and networking, in Beyond The Book: Tips on publishing, marketing, and networking to build your brand, available now in digital and paperback format.
As authors know, the more places your book can be found, the more exposure it receives, and a few sales are bound to follow.
Most of these sites require that your book be free during the promotion.
Keep in mind, each site has a set list of rules to follow to be able to list your book. Make sure you get signed up during the right time when your book is actually FREE. When doing these promotions, it may be best to make your book free for that entire month so you won’t miss a day.
Some of these are forums where you can talk your book up to readers and other authors. Others are places to advertise your book for free.
Also, remember, if your book is free, it will not garner a “verified purchase” on Amazon, for those who are concerned with that. As well, Amazon may decline their reviews.

It can be quite time consuming to set your book up with each one, but it may result in a few more sales and reviews in the end, as well as accrue a few new loyal readers.

Great information, Traci. I have listed on many of the sites too, but re-publishing has made many of the sites obsolete for me. I’m slowly getting them corrected. Also, some listings are temporary while others are permanent. Anyway, great post and thanks for the info.
