Goodreads export

A friend of mine was devastated when her Goodreads account disappeared. Long story short, after a lot of run around, she was forced to just start over. Now I don’t know about all of you, but I know most of you would feel the same way she did. I know I’d just want to curl in a ball and cry for days, or weeks. I would feel like the entire world was falling down around me if I lost my book lists. So, after reading her horror story, I went searching and found out you can export your Goodreads lists. It would still suck majorly if your account vanished, but it’d be a little better than having to start from scratch. I feel better knowing I have a back up now, just in case. I’ll sleep better tonight knowing my lists are saved in multiple places. Okay, enough of my ramblings. If you are interested, here is how to export your Goodreads lists.

On your Goodreads account, click on “my books”, then click on “import/export” beneath your shelf list on the left. On the top, right of the following page, click “export”. The batch upload may take a few minutes, but it’s well worth the peace of mind in my opinion. Anyway, once it’s done, you can save the spreadsheet on your computer and feel relieved.

I apologize for any grammar errors or other mistakes. I’m on my lunch break at work, so I’m in a hurry. 🙂

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Happy Reading! and/or writing!

-Angie
