MY REVIEW
A child missing from a day care center with no one realizing the truth for 10 hours got the cops rushing to solve the case. Author Beverly Long had a fabulous way of writing where there was space even when the tension kept increasing. I could grasp the emotion behind each word.
Having read so many police procedural, I had qualms about reading another one. But this was so different. There was heightened suspense in the story but not the gritty, raw feeling that would leave me battered. Nothing felt forced in the subplots, hence the reading of a difficult topic too sailed smoothly.
